Match Preview | Birkirkara - Mosta
by Clayton Schembri - 14th August 2021Birkirkara FC will be involved in the curtain raiser of the BOV Premier League for Season 2021-2022, when this evening, they take on Mosta FC at the National Stadium, Kick-off 20:00.
The Stripes, under the guidance of Coach Andre Paus and the new president Mr. Michael Valenzia, were among the busiest teams in the summer transfer market so far as they signed six new players – Daniel Fernandes, Leandro Aguirre, Diego Venancio, Ryan Scicluna, Jed Valletta and Jefferson Macedo. All new signings are at the disposal of the Birkirkara Coach except Scicluna.
During the first official interview as Birkirkara president, Mr. Michael Valenzia said, “That the team we have today will not be the same we will see in the first day of September” as there will be more players that will join the stripes later this month. Valenzia said that at Birkirkara FC we aim to be the best on and off the pitch, our people are as committed to the success of the club as the players are to winning trophies. He said that “together we are working to make this club more professional and self-sustainable”.
This season, the league will be played out in two phases, first we play two normal rounds followed by a Final Round where the top six teams will play once against each other (Top Six – Final Round) and the bottom six teams will also play once against each other to avoid relegation (Play-Out – Final Round).
Following the latest ease of restrictions by the health authorities, 200 supporters in each section will be making their return to the stadium for the Premier League Matches. The club is asking all the supporters for co-operations and following the directives published in the last few days.
