BOV Premier League - Birkirkara FC vs. Mosta FC
by Ayrton Galea - 13th April 2019Birkirkara FC will be seeking to return to winning ways and revive their hopes of securing a place in the top-four of the BOV Premier League when they take on Mosta FC this evening in a match that will be played at the National Stadium (Kick Off - 18:00).
Two goals in the last six minutes of the match condemned the Stripes to their second defeat in the last three matches, as despite their satisfactory performance, Hibernians FC won the match with a 3-2 score.
Sliema Wanderers FC and Balzan FC both won their matches as the challenge for the fourth place continues to be one of the most challenging in the last years. In fact, there are only two points separating between the fourth and the seventh place.
With Hamrun Spartans FC and Balzan FC go head to head tomorrow afternoon, the Stripes have the perfect opportunity to continue their pursuit of challenging for the fourth place, but since the appointment of Coach Mark Miller, Mosta proved to be a tough nut to crack.
They are coming from two positive draws in their last two outings as they denied Hibernians FC with a late goal in the 1-1 draw while they obtained another important point to regain their Premier League status in their last match thanks to an entertaining 3-3 draw against Floriana FC.
Defender Kurt Zammit is suspended for the Stripes following an off-ball incident at the end of the last match while Terence Agius will be serving his last match of the three-match ban.
A brace by Marcelo Henrique and a late goal by Michael Mifsud earned the Stripes a comfortable 3-0 victory against Mosta FC.
