Under pressure Stripes aim to get back on track

Birkirkara FC will be hoping to heave a sigh of relief and start the third and final round of the BOV Premier League by returning to winning ways after three matches, when they face the tricky test in form of Mosta FC.
The pressure will be all on the Stripes this afternoon to return to winning ways and keep the pace with the top three teams while retain their third place in the standings after Floriana have temporally leap-frog the Stripes with yesterday's comfortable victory over Naxxar Lions. The Stripes are currently fourth with twenty-one points, two points under Floriana but with a game in hand.
Birkirkara are coming from one draw and two back-to-back defeats in their last three outings. Following a goal-less draw against Floriana, they lost to Balzan with a 1-0 score while Hibernians scored a goal in each half last Sunday to inflict Birkirkara's second consecutive defeat and the third match without a victory.
It was anything than an easy week for the Stripes who will be all out to return to winning ways. They will be heading to today's match with a number of side-lined players with Nikola Vukanac the latest addition with a long-term muscle injury. Mauricio Mazzetti, Joseph Zerafa, Edmond Agius and Edward Herrera are all ruled-out injured.
On the other hand, Mosta are seventh with fifteen points. They suffered just one defeat in their last four outings and in their last match, they produced a late two-goal comeback to save a point an entertaining 3-3 draw against Pembroke Athleta.
In the first-round match, Birkirkara and Mosta shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw but in the second-round match, the Stripes registered a comfortable 3-0 victory.
The match will be played at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 14:00.
