Mauricio Mazzetti is an Argentinean defender who was born on the 18 June 1986. The strong defender joined our Club in the 2015 January Transfer Market.

Mauricio played with a host of Clubs, the last one before coming to our island was in Iraqi Kurdistan with Dohuk FC where he signed a contract in January 2014 to feature in the Iraqi Premier League. Before joining Dohuk FC, he played for FC Emmen, Universitario de Sucre and AEK Kouklia.

He was brought in Malta by Qormi FC in the 2014-2015 Season where he joined the Maltese Club in the beginning of August. He left a very good impression and with the yellow-blacks, he made fifteen appearances and scored one goal.

In the January Transfer Market, the Stripes reached an agreement with Qormi FC for the permanent transfer of Mazzetti. He joined our Club on the 28 January 2015 by signing a two-year contract. As part of the deal, Alejandro Mendoza joined Qormi FC on loan till the end of the season.

The first four months with our Club were excellent for the solid defender. He made twelve appearances in the BOV Premier League, all from the start. He scored one goal while he was voted once as the BOV Player of the Match. This season ended on the most positive note as the Stripes won the FA Trophy thanks to a 2-0 victory over Hibernians with the defender scoring the first goal of the match thanks to a wonderful acrobatic strike.

His first season with our Club, the 2015-2016 season, was also an excellent one particularly by his rock solid performances in the UEFA Europa League and another very consistent league campaign. During this season, he played thirty matches and scored four goal, in which the first one was in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League in the 3-1 victory over Ulisses FC.
