Birkirkara FC maintained their momentum when they registered the third consecutive victory in the BOV Premier League, to climb eighth in the standings on 13 points. Coach Andre Paus fielded the same Starting XI for the third game in a row as expected, this was also the third win in a week.

Birkirkara made their intentions clear right from the start with an early long-range strike from Caio Prado missed the target while Matthew Farrugia saved on Yannick Yankam.

The Stripes took the lead five minutes from half-time, Alex da Paixao Alves carried the ball on the right flank, his shot was blocked by Alan Abela and from the rebound, Caio Prado served Yannick Yankam who buried the ball home past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

Just few minutes after the break, The Stripes doubled the score, thanks to a direct freekick by Claudio Bonnani who whipped the ball past goalkeeper Farrugia.

Birkirkara could score the third goal on the 56th minute after Cain Attard pass found Federico Falcone at the far post, but the Argentinean striker shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Fifteen minutes from time, Senglea managed to score, when Wilkerson Gomes cross the ball to Kevaughn Atkinson who slotted the ball past goalkeeper Alessandro Guarnone.

On the 85th minute, both sides were reduced to ten men after Paul Mbong slid on Andre Scicluna from behind, the Senglea defender has reacted angrily and the two squared up. For Scicluna, this was his second yellow card. Mbong was sent off soon after for remarks he passed towards the Senglea defender as he was leaving the pitch.
