BOV Premier League - Mosta FC vs. Birkirkara FC

by Ayrton Galea - 20th September 2019

Birkirkara FC will be all out for their first victory in the BOV Premier League when they take on Mosta FC this evening in a match that will be played at the Centenary Stadium (Kick-Off - 19:00)

A last-gasp goal by former goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski denied the Stripes their first win as they shared the spoils in a highly-entertaining 3-3 draw against Balzan FC.

However, on the plus side, the Stripes' attacking force began to shape-up as Federico Falcone scored on his first start, while Miguel Alba notched two goals including a well-converted penalty.

With just three games played, the Stripes are however in a must-win situation following lost their opening two matches against Floriana FC and Senglea Athletic FC both with an identical 1-0 score.

On the other hand, following a winning start, Mosta FC suffered two defeats in their last two outings as they were defeated by Sirens FC (3-4) and Senglea Athletic FC (0-1).

Coach Andre Paus will be guiding his side for the first time after assistant coach Jonathan Holland took charge of the team last week.

The Dutch Coach welcomes back Jeferson Ferreira from a one-match ban, but Johann Bezzina, Matthew Guillaumier, and Yannick Yankam remain on the sidelines.
