Stripes eye third positive result in a row

by Ayrton Galea - 10th September 2016

Birkirkara FC will be back in action in the BOV Premier League tomorrow evening, when in a upbeat mood after a perfect start, they will take on newly-promoted side, Hamrun Spartans FC.

The Stripes will be fancying their chances of extending their perfect start to three wins in a row when they take on the optimistic Hamrun Spartans. The Spartans relied on the last hours of the transfer market to seal the signing of Christian Maldini on a season loan while agreeing terms with Haruna Garba.

The Stripes registered the perfect start with two victories from two matches. They kicked off their league campaign with a comfortable 4-0 victory over St. Andrew's and they registered an identical 4-0 victory in the second match. Vito Plut, Srdjan Dimitrov, Frank Temile and Gareth Sciberras scored a goal each to round off a brilliant performance and defeat Tarxien Rainbows.

While Birkirkara's start can be describe as perfect, the Spartans also enjoyed a very satisfactory start as they are still unbeaten after the first two matches. In quite a surprising result in the opening day, they defeated Hibernians with a 3-1 score while they took another point in a 1-1 draw against Gzira United.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and will kick off at 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
