Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team registered their third victory in the Youths League Section A and they moved away from the relegation zone, when on Wednesday evening, they defeated Zabbar St. Patrick's with a 3-1 score.

The Stripes registered an important victory in their bid of retaining their place in the top division. They are in the seventh place joined with Pembroke Athleta FC with ten points, and they now moved six points over the same Zabbar who are second from bottom with four points.

Birkirkara had a terrible start as they went one goal down after just two minutes. However, they made an instant reaction and levelled matters just eight minutes later, thanks to a penalty converted by Kurt Zammit, following a foul inside the box on Russell Gatt De Raffaele. The first-half ended with a 1-1 score.

In the second half, the Stripes pushed forward and they surged ahead for the first time in the match ten minutes into the second half, thanks to a fine finish by Kurt Zammit who notched his second goal. One goal up, the Stripes easily controlled the game before sealing the issue with the third and final goal thanks to substitute Jeremy Vassallo.

The Stripes will now be involved in their next match on Thursday, 5 March when they will take on the leaders Hibernians FC. The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.
