Mazzetti believes FA Trophy is an opportunity to prove potential
by Ayrton Galea - 13th February 2015The BOV Premier League this weekend will make way for the Malta FA Trophy Quarter-Final matches. We spoke with Mauricio Mazzetti, who believes that the Malta FA Trophy is a golden opportunity for Stripes to show their potential, and that they have all what it takes to win this honour.
Birkirkara will face Pieta Hotspurs in the quarter-final of the Malta FA Trophy, and Mauricio said “It's a very important match for us. We can't commit mistakes because it's the only chance we have to continue in the Trophy.”
Mauricio said, “I came to Birkirkara because it is one of the biggest clubs in Malta and I like the team's targets. I am working to adapt myself to the group, and luckily everybody has welcomed me very well.”
When asked about the last match against Valletta, he said “It was a very intense match as we both have very good and technical players. At times we were compact in defending, and we also tried to attack their area with many players. Obviously, there is always room for improvement, but we're working to not repeat the same mistakes of the last matches, and keep the result when it is positive.”
He went on by saying, “We are training very hard to play a very good match and we are going to do our best. About the dressing room atmosphere, I can say it is very good. I have a good relationship with all my mates. It is a good group. We want to win again, and everyone wants to achieve important things for the club. “
When asked if he believes it is still possible to win the league, he said “Of course we still do. We will fight until the last match, while we have a mathematical chance, we are not going to lose faith.”
Mazzetti then said, “I think the Malta FA Trophy is a good opportunity to show that we have a good team and that we can achieve important things. I believe we can win the Trophy if we continue doing what we have done right, and we correct our mistakes.”
We also found time to talk with him about his personal and the Club's targets. He said “My personal target is continue adapting to the team and give it my best. As a team we will fight until the end to put the club as high as possible.”
Mazzetti finished off with a message to the supporters: “Keep believing in the team, we will give our maximum to the end to achieve important things to this club.”
