Birkirkara Under-19's team was eliminated from the Youths' Knock Out by Naxxar Lions FC. They were eliminated with heads held high as they left their hearts on the pitch. The team showed brilliant attitude as they were forced to play almost the whole of the second half with one player less, after they had a player sent off. These efforts were not enough as Naxxar managed to make it through thanks to a late goal.

With seven consecutive wins in the league at their back, and morale sky high, the Stripes were on the right track to make it to the next round of the competition. Their hopes were dashed with a late goal to end their adventure in the Youths' Knock Out.

Birkirkara gave a solid performance in the first half, as the Naxxar Lions goalkeeper had to perform several fine saves to keep the score level. However, the Stripes received a major set-back early in the second half when they had Beppe Jaccarini sent off.

The sending off of Jaccarini was a decisive twist in the match, but the Stripes did not throw in the towel in, as they showed great fighting spirit and their resilient character denied Naxxar Lions for most of the time. However, five minutes from the end, Naxxar managed to grab the winning goal to eliminate Birkirkara from the Youths' Knock Out.

Birkirkara will now be involved in the next match on the 10 January against Melita where they will be hoping to register their eighth straight victory in the Youths' League Section A. The match is going to be played at the Sirens Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.
