In a friendly match played on Saturday, Birkirkara managed to beat Division One side Pieta' H. by two goals to nil.
With the first-half ending goalless, those present at the stadium had to wait until the fifty-fourth minutes to witness the first goal, as Angus Buhagiar found Sylvano Comvalius who dribbled past the Pieta' goalie and easily put the ball into the empty net.
Twelve minutes from the end, a good cross by Alan Tabone was collected by George Mallia, who managed to deflect the ball into the net in order to seal victory for Birkirkara.
Birkirkara will be involved in a number of other friendly matches until the BOV Premier League 2009-2010 season is resumed by the Malta Football Association.
