FA Trophy - Birkirkara FC vs. Hamrun Spartans FC

The Stripes and the Spartans are two teams aspiring to play in European competition next season, and the FA Trophy could prove to be the ideal route to meet their targets. Birkirkara are currently fourth in the BOV Premier League, followed by Hamrun Spartans with just one point less.
The Stripes' major changes seems to be leaving the desired results as they registered a comfortable 3-0 victory in the last match against Pieta' Hotspurs FC. This was the first victory in the second match in charge of the club's Sporting Director, John Arne Riise.
Birkirkara have also been one of the most active local clubs in the January Transfer Market by acquiring the signature of Maumer Svraka, Clayton Failla, Jorge Pereira, Johann Bezzina and Maurizio Vella. On the other hand, they parted ways with Umeh, Basrak, Orlandic and Chavarria.
On the other hand, Hamrun Spartans FC have been one of the positive revelations of this season as the Reds are showing that they are showing strong intends of returning in European football, as their fifth place shows.
They are desperate for a strong run in the competition and they have already shown that they have what it takes to be among the dark horses in the Cup when they ousted Floriana FC in the third round.
On the other hand, the Stripes reached the fourth round of this competition following a comfortable victory over Nadur Youngsters FC with a 4-0 score.
