Paul Fenech returns with Birkirkara FC
by Ayrton Galea - 5th June 2018Birkirkara FC completed their first major signing in the summer transfer market, when National Team midfielder Paul Fenech signed a three-contract with our Club. He signed his contract in-front of the Club's members during the Club's Annual General Meeting.
MFA Footballer of the Year 2013, Paul Fenech will be returning with our Club for his second spell, after he was unveiled as the first major signing. Fenech played with our Club for eight and a half seasons between 2007 and 2016.
He has won every honour that the Maltese football offers with our Club. He has won the BOV Premier League title twice in 2010 and 2013, two FA Trophies in 2008 and 2015 as well as two BOV Super Cups in 2013 and 2014. On a personal note, he won the MFA Footballer of the Year in 2013.

Club's Technical Director, Mr. Michael Valenzia reveals that the Club set Paul Fenech as their number transfer target, because they believe that he is the best midfielder in Malta.
“Paul Fenech was the number one transfer target for the Club. We worked to sign him from the end of last season. We got him because we believe that he is the best midfielder in Malta as well as we believe that he can help our midfielders that have enormous potential.
He added, “Paul showed his wish to return with this Club from the start. Following several weeks of negotiations with Balzan FC, we reached an agreement and managed to sign Paul Fenech on a three-year contract.”
Mr. Valenzia concluded by saying, “We believe that this signing can help us in our chances to challenge for the main honours in the upcoming season.”
