Rolovic eager for more positive performances
by Ayrton Galea - 16th February 2018Forward Ognjejn Rolovic is looking forward for more positive performances following his electrifying debut with our Club that saw him providing both assists in the 2-1 victory over Sliema Wanderers FC.
The Montenegrin forward left his mark in his first appearance. First, he provided an accurate cross inside the box towards Jake Grech who blasted home, while then showed his match-vision by supplying the same Grech with an inch-perfect through-ball for the winning goal.
Rolovic joined our Club from Kercem Ajax FC on loan till the end of the season, after he established himself as one of the best foreigners as well as he was the league's top-scorer. We opened this interview by asking him about his move to our Club.
“After having scored twenty-two goals in sixteen matches with Kercem Ajax FC, as expected I began to receive offers from bigger Clubs. I decided to join Birkirkara FC, because they showed the biggest interest in me.”
He added, “I received a call from Coach Mr. Paul Zammit and Kercem Ajax told me very good things about both the Coach and the Club. It was an easy decision to join this Club because I wanted to improve my game in a bigger level.”
The mobile-forward feels that settling in this Club was easy thanks to the warm welcome received. “I received a very warm welcome from all players, coaches and technical staff in the club. I think that I am adapting very fast and I feel like I am already settled.”
Rolovic believes that the Stripes were the better team in last Saturday's match. “Well, it was a difficult game, because a victory was very important for us. We were the better side, but their game was based only on defence and counter attacks, and this made it very difficult for us to go through. However, we were tactically good, we knew their weaknesses and we took advantage of that.”
The Montenegrin was glad to help the team by his performance, but makes it clear he's always eager for better matches. “I am glad that I could help the team to continue the winning streak, but I'm never satisfied with my performance. I always want more and there is always room for improvement.”
Finally, he concluded this interview with a message for the supporters. “I would like thank all the supporters for all their supporters, and for them to come in numbers and be the best supporters in Malta like they already are!”
