Women U19: Birkirkara FC 9-1 Zebbug Rangers FC
by Ayrton Galea - 17th December 2017Birkirkara FC Women Under-19's Team returned to winning ways in the Women Under-19's League, when they defeated Zebbug Rangers FC with a comfortable 9-1 victory.
The Stripes proved to be too strong for their opponents as the score indicates. They built a comfortable four-goal lead till the end of the first half while they added another five to add further gloss on the victory.
The First Half
Veronique Mifsud opened the score after six minutes and Sarah Urpani doubled the lead with a wonderful direct free-kick.
Mifsud scored her second personal goal on the thirty-fifth minute with a well-placed finish while Emma Bonnici scored a brilliant header three minutes later.
The Second Half
Zebbug converted a penalty to pull one back but the Stripes made an instant reply as they scored twice in three minutes thanks to a goal each by Samantha Zarb and Emma Bonnici.
The Stripes added another three goals by Mariah Sciberras, Sarah Urpani and Nicole Zammit to register the biggest victory of the season so far.
