Birkirkara FC Women Under-19's Team started Season 2017-2018 with a fine 3-1 victory over Mosta FC. Samantha Zarb, Michela Felice and Captain Sarah Urpani scored a goal each to hand the Stripes a positive start in the league.

Birkirkara, who are once again under the guidance of Ms. Kelly Agius Pace and Ms. Michelle Zahra, were superior for long stretches and they full deserved the three points.

Sarah Urpani and Veronique Mifsud both had hit the crossbar with sublime efforts but it was Samantha Zarb who broke the dead-lock late in the first half with a fine curling shot, to give the Stripes the lead.

Michela Felice doubled the score inside the second half with a powerful drive, but substitute Mariah Micallef pulled one back for Mosta. However, the Stripes wrapped-up their victory with the third goal through Sarah Urpani, following an assist by Samantha Zarb.

BIRKIRKARA: Anthea Enriquez, Sarah Cassar, Mariah Sciberras, Mariah Cardona, Michela Felice, Sarah Urpani, Samantha Zarb, Veronique Mifsud, Kaycee Micallef (53' Jessica Farrugia Cross).

Scorers: 40+3' Samantha Zarb, 55' Michela Felice, 78' Sarah Urpani (Birkirkara), 60' Mariah Micallef.
