Stephania Farrugia named MFPA Best Female Player

Birkirkara FC Women's Team Captain Stephania Farrugia has been named the MFPA Best Female Player for Season 2016-2017. Stephania has been chosen the winner by the teams' captains of the BOV Women's First Division.

Stephania, aged 25, is a fixed asset in Birkirkara's defence and she was one of the key-roles in the team that won BOV Women's First Division title for their sixth time in the history. Farrugia led the defence with style as she enjoyed a magnificent season in the heart of the defence, which also ended as the best defence in the league with just seven goals conceded in twenty league matches.

During this dominant league campaign, she made twenty appearances and despite her position of a defender, she ended-up as the team's second top scorer with twelve goals.
