by Ayrton Galea - 25th February 2017

Birkirkara FC will be kicking off their third and last round commitments of the BOV Premier League this afternoon, when they will take on St. Andrew's FC.

The Stripes ended the second round on the wrong foot as they were defeated by Floriana with a 2-1 score. A defeat which condemned the Stripes to end the second round in the fifth place, two under Floriana and four under Valletta.

On the other hand, St. Andrew's finished their second-round commitments in the nine place, four under Hamrun Spartans and three over Gzira United. After holding Valletta to a 1-1 draw, they lost to Hibernians and Gzira United respectively.

Coach Nikola Jaros will be unable to field his best formation, as Christian Bubalovic and Joseph Zerafa are suspended, after both collected their fourth yellow card in the last match. For St. Andrew's, Felix Udoh is also suspended after collecting four yellow cards.

Birkirkara registered a comfortable 4-0 victory in the opening match of the first round. However, in the second-round match, super-sub Matteo Desira Buttigieg saved a point in a 1-1 draw with last gasp goal.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 14:00. Transport is available and It will leave from Valley Road at 13:15.
