Under-17's Team advance to the Quarter Final

Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team advanced to the quarter-final of the knockout when a goal each by Karl Caruana and Michele Vella gave them a 2-0 victory over Sirens FC on Sunday morning.

The Stripes dominated for long stretches but they were unable to break the dead-lock in the first half. They went close mid-way through the first half when Karl Caruana served Ayrton Attard who hit a well-placed shot but his effort hit the foot of the post.

The Stripes went out more aggressive inside the second half and they surged ahead after five minutes. Karl Caruana advanced in the box and beat the goalkeeper with a diagonal shot.

Attard was unlucky to hit the post again mid-way through the second half but Birkirkara made them two in the last moments of the match. Sebastian Grech served substitute Michele Vella who slotted a fine strike in the net.
