Under-17's Team secure Section A place

Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team made sure of playing in Section A for the 2016-2017 season after defeating Zebbug Rangers with a 4-0 score. The Stripes have won all three matches in the group and with one match to go, they booked their place in Section A for another season.

The Stripes surged ahead as early as the fourth minute as Briam Mifsud's long-ball unzipped the defence and picked Carlo Zammit Lonardelli who slotted home past the Zebbug goalkeeper. Just three minutes later, Paul Mbong doubled the lead with a well-placed shot.

Birkirkara made them three on the twenty-third minute thanks to Ayrton Attard with a curling shot from outside the box. Three became four just six minutes later when the same player scored his second personal goal with a cool finish following a through ball by Mbong.

The Stripes will be playing their last preliminary group match against Swieqi United on Sunday, 9 October. The match will be played at the Dingli Grounds and it will kick off at 12:30.
