Stripes in a tricky encounter against Pembroke

by Ayrton Galea - 25th September 2016

Birkirkara FC will be looking to secure back-to-back wins in the BOV Premier League, when this evening they take on Pembroke Athleta FC.

Following an unexpected defeat to Sliema Wanderers, last week The Stripes returned to the right track, when with a goal in each half they won 2-0 against Mosta FC. This was the fourth win out of five matches for Birkirkara, as they had defeated St. Andrew's, Tarxien Rainbows and Hamrun Spartans in the first three matches.

On the other hand, Pembroke suffered their fifth straight defeat last Thursday and therefore are still without a point after five matches. After conceding a last-gasp goal against Hibernians in a 2-1 defeat, they suffered a 3-0 loss against Gzira United.

The Stripes are second with twelve points, following four victories and one defeat, just one point under leaders Balzan. On the other hand, Pembroke are anchored at the bottom of the table with no points after five consecutive defeats.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and will kick off at 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
