Birkirkara FC to face St. Andrew's in first league game

Birkirkara FC will be facing St. Andrew's FC in the first match-day of the BOV Premier League 2016-2017, which will start on the third week of August. The draws were held during the MFA Awards 2016.

The Stripes finished third in the league while St. Andrew's completed the escape from the relegation by retaining their position in the last match-day.

The draws for the first match-day were as the following:

Floriana FC vs. Pembroke Athleta FC
Birkirkara FC vs. St. Andrew's FC
Balzan FC vs. Mosta FC
Gzira United FC vs. Tarxien Rainbows FC
Valletta FC vs. Sliema Wanderers FC
Hibernians FC vs. Hamrun Spartans FC

Birkirkara's sequence of matches will be played as the following:

1) St. Andrew's 2) Tarxien Rainbows 3) Hamrun Spartans 4) Sliema Wanderers 5) Mosta 6) Pembroke Athleta 7) Balzan 8) Valletta 9) Hibernians 10) Gzira United 11) Floriana.
