Stripes to face Floriana

by Ayrton Galea - 2nd March 2016

Birkirkara FC will be all-out to climb to the third place in the BOV Premier League, but their task is anything but plain-sailing when they take on Floriana FC.

With Balzan yesterday salvaging a point with a last-gasp goal against Tarxien Rainbows in a 2-2 draw, this result presents the Stripes a perfect opportunity to join them in the third place. The Stripes are nine-points away from Valletta, four from Hibernians and three from Balzan, but Birkirkara and Hibernians have a game in hand.

In last Saturday's match, the Stripes registered an important victory when despite playing for over an hour with ten men, they held strong for a narrow 1-0 victory over Pembroke Athleta. On the other hand, Floriana dropped two points after they were held in a 2-2 draw against Sliema Wanderers.

Goalkeeper Miroslav Kopric will be suspended for the Stripes, but on a positive note, Ryan Camenzuli will be back from a one-match ban.

In the first two-rounds, the two teams shared a goal-less draw.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and will kick off at 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
