by Ivan Mizzi - 7th January 2016

Birkirkara FC completed their second major signing in this January Transfer Window when former Istra 1961, Hajduk Split and Koper FC defensive midfielder, Mislav Andelkovic, joined our Club on a year and and a half contract.

Mislav is expected to be a major boost for the midfield department as he enjoys an impressive CV. He hails from Croatia and the twenty-seven year old played for two top division Clubs in Croatia namely Istra 1961 and the famous Hajduk Split, before moving to the top Slovenian League to join Koper FC last summer.

Mislav started his youth career with HNK Dubrovnik 1919 before he moved to Istra 1961 at the age of seventeen years old. With Istra, he spent ten successful years where then he was also the captain of the team and made 155 appearances and scored six goals.

The abilities of Mislav were spotted by HNK Hajduk Split and he joined them on the 10 June 2013. With Hajduk, he spent two seasons where he made twenty-five appearances. He left the Croatian top club in to move to the Slovenian's top league club Koper where he made five appearances.

Mislav is the second signing and the second addition to the midfield after Edison Zarate has joined our Club in the beginning of the week.

We would like to welcome Mislav while wishing him all the best of luck in his adventure with our Club.
