Women's Team to face Pembroke Athleta
by Ayrton Galea - 17th November 2015Birkirkara FC Women's Team will be seeking to build on their momentum of three consecutive victories when they face Pembroke Athleta this evening, as the second round of the BOV Women's First Division League gets underway.
The Stripes had a great performance in their last match, to outclass Mgarr United with a 5-1 score, to end their first round commitments in class. This victory was the third consecutive one following a 2-1 victory over Raiders and a 5-0 victory over Kirkop United.
Birkirkara are in the second place with twelve points, three under leaders Hibernians and five points over Mgarr United. While the Stripes will take on Pembroke, Hibernians will be involved in a tricky encounter against Raiders.
On the other hand, Pembroke Athleta are anchored at the bottom of the table with just one point from the opening five matches. They lost the opening three matches to Birkirkara, Kirkop United and Mgarr United respectively but earned their first point in a 1-1 draw against Raiders. However, they were heavily defeated by Hibernians in their last outing with their biggest defeat of the season with a 7-0 score.
The match will be played at the Charles Abela Stadium in Mosta and is scheduled to kick off at 20:15
