'I can't see myself leaving this Club' - Rowen Muscat
by Ayrton Galea - 18th May 2015A few days after Rowen Muscat renewed his contract with our Club, we had a chat with him about the recent events.
Rowen told us, “From a young age, I have always supported Birkirkara FC. My career grew with this Club and I know I am very respected from everyone in this Club, including the Committee, Technical Team, my team-mates and the supporters.”
He added on, “When the Club approached me to renew my contract, it only took us two hours to agree on all the conditions - this show how much both the Club and myself respect each other. I have been through good times, bad patches, celebrations and disappointments with this Club and I can't see myself leaving this Club.”
Rowen rejoined our Club last January following a short-spell in Hungary with Dunaújváros PASE and we talked about this experience. “It was a very positive experience but it was a tough one for me. It was very positive because it improved my level a lot. I experienced foreign professional-level football and it helped me to mature. On the other hand, it was tough because it wasn't that easy being alone for a very long time and had only few team-mates speaking English. The worst part was that in the last two months the club had some financial issues that affected the foreigners in playing with the first-eleven. However, all in all, it was a great experience.
Rowen concluded by talking about the FA Trophy. “We didn't give an inch to Valletta and the best team won. We have been working over two weeks for this match and I think it was a very tactical match. I still believe we need to improve some issues so we will face the final with no difficulty.”
