Third consecutive win for the Under-17's Team

Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team registered the third win victory in the APS Bank Under-17's League Section B, when they defeated Melita 3-1, thanks to a brace by Liam Reno Gatt and another goal by Max Borg.

The Stripes put the disappointment of last Thursday's elimination from the Knock-out behind them, as they produced a dominant performance, and they were the deserved winners. They opened a two-goal lead before Melita pulled one back. However, the Stripes were quick to restore a two-goal lead and held strong for the victory.

Birkirkara surged ahead after thirteen minutes when Gianluca Zammit served Liam Reno Gatt who put the Stripes ahead. Reno Gatt scored the goal for the Stripes six minutes into the second-half. An unfortunate own goal on the sixty-seventh minute, looked like it was a life-line for Melita. However, the Stripes regained a two-goal lead moments later, as Max Borg converted a penalty after Gianluca Zammit was floored in the box.
