Leighton Grech moves to Qormi FC on permanent transfer

Birkirkara FC and Qormi FC have reached an agreement over the permanent transfer of the twenty-four year old, Leighton Grech.

Struggling to find a starting-eleven place, Leighton sought for a new adventure in his football career, and today he joined Qormi FC. Leighton,a product of Hibernians FC, had joined Birkirkara in the 2011 Summer Transfer Market.

Leighton was loaned out to Vittoriosa Stars FC in the 2012 January Transfer Market, while in the next two seasons he was loaned to Qormi FC. During his spell with Qormi, the twenty-four winger left a very good impression.

Leighton made 32 appearances with our Club, 14 of them this season, out of which he started five matches, while he was included as a substitute nine times. He scored three goals with our Club, two in the 2011-2012 season, and one this season in the 4-0 victory over Zebbug, in which he was voted as the BOV Player of the Match.
