Birkirkara aim to return to winning ways

by Ayrton Galea - 20th September 2014

Birkirkara FC will be hoping to recover from last Saturday's upset and return to winning ways, when this evening they take on Qormi FC.

Birkirkara suffered a setback last Saturday, when in a match that they were leading twice, Balzan did an impressive comeback to condemn Birkirkara for their first defeat with a 3-2 score. For Birkirkara, this was the first defeat in four matches after three straight wins against Pieta, Zebbug and Naxxar.

On the other hand, Qormi are struggling for consistency in this early stage of the league. Following opening their league commitments with a narrow 1-0 win over Naxxar Lions, Qormi suffered two defeats against Hibernians and Balzan before holding Sliema Wanderers in a goal-less draw.

Birkirkara are currently in the fourth place and they aim to keep the pace before Mosta and Balzan face each other in tomorrow's match while sole leaders, Hibernians will be involved in a tricky task against newly-promoted side, Pieta Hotspurs FC.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 18:00.

Come on the Stripes!
