Six Women's Team players in Maltese National Teams
by Ayrton Galea - 9th September 2014Six Birkirkara FC Women's team players were selected to play with the Maltese national teams.
Senior Team
Four Birkirkara FC Women's Team players were named in the final list of the Maltese National Women's Team for the last two games of the FIFA Women's World Cup against Denmark and Switzerland.
Gabriella Zahra, Kim Parnis, Kelly Agius Pace and Stephania Farrugia were the Birkirkara players named by Mr. Pierre Brincat.
The Maltese team will leave our island on Thursday night and it will play its last away match on Saturday, 13 September when they face Denmark in a match played at the Vejle Stadion. Then, the Women's National Team will host the last match of the group on Wednesday, 17 September when they face Switzerland in a match played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
U19 Team
Alishia Sultana and Raina Giusti were named in the final list of the Maltese Women Under-19's Team for the UEFA Women Under-19's Championship hosted in Bosnia against Romania, Czech Republic and Boznia Herzegovina.
The Under 19 national team, under the guidance of Mr. Mark Gatt, will leave on Thursday and will play its first match on the 13 September against Romania. Two days later they will face Czech Republic and they will play the final match on Thursday 18 September against Boznia Herzegovina. The first two matches will be played at the SRC Slavica in Sarajevo while the third match will be played at the FF Training Centre in Zenica.
