Joseph Zerafa released

by Ivan Mizzi - 1st September 2014

Joseph Zerafa has decided to try his luck abroad, and he was released by Birkirkara FC to join an English Club in the coming days.

Earlier during this Summer Transfer Market, Zerafa signed a new contract with our Club but the twenty-six year old left-back showed a wish to continue his playing career overseas.

Joseph began his career when he was just 6 years old with Sirens where he spent one year. The next year he joined his home-town youth nursery of Mgarr United where he spent another four years. At the age of thirteen Joseph moved to the Hibernians youth nursery for another two years. He then moved to Birkirkara's FC Youth Nursery.

With our Club, Joseph won all the honours that the Maltese Football offers. Joseph made his debut in senior team football in the 2005-2006 season in the 3-0 victory over Valletta, on the 20 April 2006. With our Club, Joseph had187 appearances and to scored six goals.

We would like to thank Joseph for his excellent services to our Club while wishing him all the best of luck in his future.
