by Ivan Mizzi - 1st September 2014

Birkirkara FC continued to strengthen its senior team squad for the 2014-2015 with the signing of Ukranian striker, Vyacheslav Shevchenko, for two years.

The reinforcements made in the forward line by the signings of the Brazilian trio of Gonzaga, Ledesma and Morais have already left their mark, but the Club continued to strengthen its forward line with the signing of the twenty-nine year old Shevchenko.

Shevchenko enjoyed very positive spells in Ukraine. He played for, Lokomotiv Tashkent which he joined January 2014. With them he played seven matches and scored one goal. Before, he was on the books of PFC Oleksandria. He joined them in 2010-2011 and he had sixty-nine appearances and scored 21 goals till December 2013.

Shevchenko will be the Club's seventh foreigner and he will join Gonzaga, Ledesma and Morais in the forward line, together with Matheus Bissi, Alejandro Mendoza and Nikola Vukanac.

We would like to wish Shevchenko all the best of luck in his adventure with our Club.
