An open letter to the supporters from Mr Paul Zammit
by Paul Zammit - 28th June 2014I have just arrived home from the MFA Awards 2014 and I felt the need to write this message. I would like to thank the MFA and the organisers for this evening's event. I was very proud of seeing our Birkirkara FC members being nominated in all the Awards and even winning in the categories of the Best Coach of the Year Award, Best Young Player of the Year Award, Best Foreign Player of the Year Award and Best Goal of the Year Award.
Regarding the Best Coach of the Year Award, I would like to thank my family for all their support, the Administration for their continuous backing, the Technical Staff for their never ending support and last but not least, the Players, for working hard with lots of dedication and commitment. But, I would like to dedicate my Award to all the Birkirkara FC Supporters. I have no words to thank you all for the support and backing you showed towards me and our Squad. I feel that you deserve this award as you were there through good times and bad times, and most of all, you were the ones that suffered most for the loss of the Championship. In the name of our Club, I feel I should say sorry for not giving you what you deserved - the League Championship. But this is Football and it can be very cruel at times. We had a very positive season and unjustly, we lost everything in the last 90 minutes.
What I admire from you all is your determination and your never say die attitude. You love this Club with all your heart. With your will we will look forward for another season full of battles. I must thank you for accepting me and making me another "Karkariz". I promise that, like ever, I will do my best to make you feel proud of your team, to challenge for all the honours and to keep raising the bar of making Birkirkara FC a stronger force in Maltese Football.
You should be proud of our Club, our players and our administration. Together we can keep growing stronger. Birkirkara FC deserves to be a top team in Maltese football. Its supporters deserves the best. Thank you for being there through good and bad times. I respect you a lot. You deserve the best. Let's look forward for Season 2014-2015. Our Unity is in our Force. We are one Birkirkara FC family.
