Under-15's promoted to Section A

Birkirkara Under-15's are the first side to be promoted to the APS League Section A. On Sunday they defeated Tarxien Rainbows with a comfortable 3-0 score, while Kirkop and Gozo shared the spoils, to put the Stripes mathematically back in the top division.

The game was sweet revenge for our boys following the first round defeat against the same Tarxien team. Although our boys were technically better, their overall performance was below what they are able to produce. There were patches in the 2nd half were Tarxien were trying to get back into the game, but our defense kept them at bay and were only dangerous on one occasion throughout the whole match.

Kyle Mifsud opened the score with a well taken free-kick that found the right top corner. Ayrton Attard added the second goal following an excellent through pass from Neil Micallef. Jordan Sciberras found his cross from the left flank ending up in the net. Neil also hit the crossbar on the fiftieth minute with a perfectly taken shot.

A big well done to our boys for their hard work which resulted in a well earned and deserved promotion.
