by Ayrton Galea - 14th February 2014

Birkirkara FC will this afternnon be facing Qormi FC in the Quarter Final of the U*Bet FA Trophy, and they will be seeking revenge for being eliminated by the same Qormi in last year's edition.

The Stripes started their adventure in the U*BET FA Trophy from the third round where they eliminated Premier League Division side Vittoriosa Stars, with a comfortable 4-1 score, despite having Edward Herrera sent off early in the second-half.

On the other hand, in the fourth round, the Stripes did not have to struggle much to book their place in the last sixteen of the competition, as they eliminated St. Andrew's with a result of 4-0.

Qormi also started their adventure in the competition in the third round. They eliminated Gozitian side, SK Victoria 1-0 and they had to struggle much more than expected to make it through. It was only a goal by Roderick Bajada in the extra-time period that handed the Yellow-Blacks the passage to the next round, as the match was still goal-less in the first ninety minutes.

In the fourth round, a penalty shoot-out had to decide the winner. Qormi made it to the last sixteen as they eliminated Premier League side, Tarxien Rainbows following another goal-less match.

Edward Herrera will be back after suspension having served a one-match ban.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 16:00.

Come on the Stripes!
