'We are the strongest team' - John Micallef

Who is John Micallef?
I am John Micallef, aged 42. I consider myself to have an outgoing character, and a little bit nervous.
How do you spend your regular days?
I spend most of my regular days working as a mechanic in my own garage.
How do you spend your weekends?
I spend most of the weekend out with my family and friends, and attending Birkirkara Nursery's matches of all age groups.
What is your favourite kind of music?
I'm not a big fan of music, but if I have to choose, I'll go for 80's music.
Do you have a favourite quote or motto?
“Always believe in yourself”.
Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation and club when it comes?
Yes. I follow the Barclay's Premier League and support Liverpool FC as a club. My favourite National Team is England.
Who is your favourite player and who is your favourite Coach?
My favourite player is Steven Gerrard and my favourite coach is Rafael Benitez.
Do you have any hobbies besides football?
Go-karting.
What is your role with the Women's Team? How did you begin to form part of the Women's Team technical staff?
My role with the Women's Team is that of assistant coach, and this all began by going to every match and taking interest in the team.
What are the satisfaction and the difficulties that you face during this role?
Watching the team improve and win gives a sense of satisfaction, but I wish I had more time available.
What can you tell us about the improvement of women's football?
More women are getting involved in football.
Do you agree that women's football is not given enough importance in the media?
No, not at all, because women's football is getting more media coverage than it used to.
How do you describe this season so far?
We can say that so far it is going very well.
What can you tell us about the atmosphere in the dressing room?
The atmosphere in the dressing room is calm, focused and determined.
What so far has been the secret to success?
The hard training, determination and playing as a team is the secret to success.
What are your comments on the last match?
Although we conceded a goal and there was a room for improvement, the team played very well.
The match against Hibernians is tomorrow. What are you expecting from this match? Do you believe that we can walk away with the three points?
Yes, and our expectations for this match are nothing less than the three points.
Do you believe that for third consecutive year we can clinch the title? Why?
Yes, because I believe that we are the strongest team.
What are your personal aspirations for this season?
My aspiration for this season is that we win the title.
