Under 15's outclass Pembroke

Birkirkara Under-15's Team maintained their three point advantage at the top of the APS Bank Under-15's League Section B. They showed total superiority when they defeated Pembroke Athleta FC with a 4-0 score, to end their first round commitment on a brilliant note.

The Stripes were enjoying a sky high morale, following their recent dazzling performances, and they kept their momentum to edge out Pembroke Athleta. They had total control of the match and the three precious points were deservingly won by the best side on the field.

Birkirkara were motivated right from the start and the early minutes could already show that they were tactically and technically superior to their opponents. Their early efforts were rewarded on the tenth minute when they broke the deadlock. Kyle Mifsud was fouled inside the box and Ayrton Attard converted brilliantly from the eleven-meter spot.

Boosted by the early goal, that aided the Stripes to dictate matter for the rest of the first half, they continued to play the best football. Despite the small size of the pitch, which was a drawback for the flowing football that Birkirkara play, they remained dominant and were quick to double their lead. On the fourteenth minute, Kyle Mifsud delivered an excellent corner kick and Isaac Cirana headed home.

The end of the first thirty-five minutes saw the Stripes in total control and leading by a 2-0 score.

In the 2nd half, Birkirkara continued to dominate and Pembroke were never dangerous with their counter-attacking approach. Birkirkara added another goal by Ayrton Attard on the fifty-second. Gianluca Zammit scored the on fifty-seventh minute for the final score of 4-0.

One should mention that Coach Mr. John William Vella made use of all his five substitutions available in the last twenty minutes.
