Yosimar Hernandez Interviewed

Yosimar, joined our Club on Friday, 30 November and so far he has made two appearances with our Club. He started once, in the last match against Rabat and was included as a substitute in the U*BET FA Trophy match against Tarxien Rainbows.
Who is Yosimar Hernandez?
I'm 24 years old and I was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. I consider myself to be very quiet, humble and passionate about football.
How do you spend your regular day?
I have been living in Malta for three weeks and every day I'm feeling better and better, and getting used to being here. In the morning I go to the gym and do a workout of 1 hour. Then it's time to eat and spend some time on the internet while trying to learn better English. After dinner, I rest a bit and go to training.
How do you spend your weekends?
Relaxed and staying focused on the game that we're going to play. If I have some free time, I like to know more about the island of Malta.
What are your main hobbies besides football?
I love sport in general. I like cycling.
What is your favourite food?
The food that I like is what my mother cooks. Here in Malta I love to eat "spaghetti with rabbit".
What is your favourite kind of music?
I prefer ‘Rock', but I like many types of music.
Mention three things you cannot live without.
My family, football and the internet.
What motivates you most in life?
Achieving the goals that I set.
Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation when it comes to football, and which is your favourite club?
I really like the Spanish League and the English Premier League Where the best football is practiced. And I like many football teams but if I have to highlight one, it's the philosophy of FC Barcelona.
Who is your favourite player? Why?
Andres Iniesta. I admire his technique; he gives meaning to football.
What is your biggest fear on the pitch?
You cannot be afraid on a football field. I think a player should enjoy playing and always be the same.
Can you tell us a bit about your experiences before joining our Club?
I played in the subsidiaries of the CD Tenerife in the Navy, at Lorca Athletic FC, Granadilla and now in Birkirkara FC. In every team I played I have good memories. Now with Birkirkara FC I'm very happy and I hope to achieve big goals with this club. It's a great club to be successful.
Why did you decide to join Birkirkara FC?
Since the opportunity arose to come here, I did not think for long. Some friends who already knew the club told me it was a good opportunity. Now here I am, and very grateful for the welcome and eager to adapt quickly to play well.
What's your preferred position?
I like playing on the wing, and I also like to play as a second striker.
How are you feeling with the Club? Have you settled in?
From the first day I was welcomed very well both by the coach and the teammates and people who work for the club and I am grateful. I have seen that there is a very good atmosphere. I every day I adapt better to the football team and to Malta.
How would you describe the atmosphere in the dressing room?
Very well, the group is very united and eager to work towards the goals.
Who is your best team mate?
They are all really good friends. Alejandro is helping me a lot too.
What are your comments about the last match against Rabat? Do you think we deserved to win?
It was a difficult game because from the beginning we started losing. But I think the team reacted well and always try to win the game. We deserved to win because we play to win.
How do you describe your performance?
My personal performance was low. I am slowly getting more confident and I will give everything I have in the upcoming matches.
How is the squad preparing for the next game against Floriana?
We are focused and working hard to earn the three points. Some players who were injured have recovered and that makes us stronger.
What are your targets and the Club's targets for this season?
Helping the team achieve our goals. It would be nice to win the Cup and the league and we will fight to get it.
Do you have a message for the supporters?
To support the team a lot, we will work hard to give them what they deserve. Together we are stronger! Thanks for the help you give us.
