Another High-Scoring Win for our Under 15s

Birkirkara Under 15s managed another big win, this time by beating Mellieha 8-1 at the Rabat Ajax Grounds. This was yet another excellent performance by our youths, who outplayed the northerners for long stretches of the game.

Birkirkara's clear supremacy could only yield two goals by the end of the first have, but the floodgates then opened up for Mellieha's defence, as the Stripes added six more goals to end the game seven goals to the good, since the blues did manage a consolation goal. Gianluca Zammit scored a hat-trick, and went one better than Nick Borg who got a brace. Owen Cauchi, Ryan Gauci and Kieran Xuereb bagged the other goals for their team.

Mr Carmel Micallef, the Under 15s coach, is now confident that the team is on the right track. “I am really satisfied with today's outcome and most of all happy with the winning attitude all the boys are showing. Now that we played our forth league game, apart from the team work, I can feel that these boys have passion for the game and are giving everything they have for the Birkirkara Nursery. Keeping in mind that we have to respect all our opponent I am sure that we will keep on achieving good results.”

The next match for the Under 15s will be against San Gwann on Sunday 28th October at the Melita Grounds, kick off time scheduled for 18:00.
