Birkirkara Women's Team suffer first defeat

Birkirkara's Women Team suffered the first defeat of the season, to bring to an end their 26 matches unbeaten in the league, when yesterday they were defeated by Mosta with a 3-1 score.

Their last defeat in the league goes back to the 15 December 2010 when they were defeated by Mosta with a 2-0 score.

Kelly Agius Pace put Birkirkara ahead after just eight minutes but Mosta managed to equalise ten minutes before the first half. In the second half, Mosta made the best of their chances and scored another two to turn the match around and register precious points.

With this defeat, Birkirkara fell three points beind Mosta who have now received a major boost in their challange for the league, despite the very early stage of the league.

On the other hand, Birkirkara need to forget this defeat quickly and work harder for the rest of the league campaign.

Birkirkara will be involved in another difficult match next Tuesday when they will face Hibernians who are also considered as title contenders.
