Edward Herrera joins Birkirkara F.C.

International defender Edward Herrera is the latest signing for Birkirkara FC as just a few moments ago he signed a five year contract with our Club.

25 year old Herrera, is a Melita FC product. In 2006 he joined Pieta Hotspurs where he made 43 appearances and scored five goals. Before joining our Club, Edward was playing for Hibernians where he spent four successful seasons, having joined them in Season 2008-2009.

Besides succeeding at domestic level, he also left his mark with the Maltese National Teams, both in the Under 19 squad and in the First Team.

Herrera's talent is undisputed, and many local clubs were trying to acquire his services. However, Edward chose to join our Club. This acquisition will give more strength to the Birkirkara's defence and more selection options to Head Coach, Mr. Paul Zammit.
