Women's Team in a decisive clash

by Ayrton Galea - 6th March 2012

Birkirkara FC's Women Team this evening will be facing the team of Pembroke, with the aim of being crowned league champions.

In their last outing, Birkirkara failed to be crowned champions as they were held in a 1-1 draw by Mosta. However, on a brighter note, this result saw Birkirkara maintain their lead over Mosta who are in the second place. After sixteen matches, Birkirkara are the sole leaders, eight points ahead of Mosta but the latter have a game in hand.

'The Stripes' registered 42 points out of a possible 48. The points dropped were in three draws as they are still unbeaten in the current league.

On the other hand, today's opponents Pembroke are 5th place with 19 points. So far they registered six wins, a draw and they were beaten nine times. In their last match against Gozo, they were humiliated with a 6-0 score.

Birkirkara and Pembroke already met twice in the current Women's league. Both matches were won comfortably by Birkirkara with 8-1 and 6-0 scores respectively.

The match will be played at the Pembroke Grounds and is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.

We encourage all the supporters to come and support the Women's Team for this important and decisive match.

Come on the Stripes!
