Aleksandar Canovic joins Birkirkara F.C.

Birkirkara F.C. continued to strengthen their squad, as the latest acquisition is the Serb goalkeeper Alexandar Canovic.

Alexandar is Serbian, and he was born on the 18 February 1983. In the youth team, he was playing for the famous Red Star Belgrade where he spent three years from 1998 to 2001.

In the 2010-2011 season he was playing for the Cypriot side Ermis Aradippou where he made nine appearances.

This new goalkeeper will definitely provide a stronger competition to Jorge Mora and both goalkeepers must be at their best to win their place between our posts.

Canovic is expected to be in the 18 men squad tonight as the registration with the Malta Football Assosication was finalised this morning.
