Second Round review

Yesterday, Birkirkara completed their Second Round commitments and we are going to take a look back at what happened in this round.
It was a round full of ups and downs for Birkirkara as 'The Stripes' never reached any consistency which resulted in several points being wasted.
Birkirkara opened the second round with a 2-2 draw against Sliema Wanderers on the 5th December with Alan Tabone scoring a brace.
The first win of the round arrived one week later when Birkirkara managed to beat Floriana with a solitary goal by Patrick Borg.
Birkirkara extend their positive run to two matches as thanks to a very satisfying performance they managed to beat Hibernians with a tune of 3-1 score line.
On 8th January, Birkirkara suffered their first defeat in the second round as they were beaten by Valletta with a score of 3-1.
'The Stripes' suffered a second consecutive defeat on 15th January against Marsaxlokk when the south-sea-siders beat Birkirkara 2-0.
Birkirkara bounced back from these two defeats with two consecutive victories against Hamrun Spartans and Vittoriosa respectively. On 22nd January, Birkirkara managed to beat Hamrun 2-0 thanks to goals by Emiliano Lattes and Paul Fenech. One week later, the debutant Andrei Agius scored the only goal in the match to give the three points to Birkirkara against Vittoriosa.
This positive run came to an end on the 5th February with an embarrassing defeat against Qormi, as Birkirkara were defeated 4-1.
One week later, Birkirkara failed again to claim the maximum points as in a boring match Birkirkara were held in a goal-less draw by Tarxien Rainbows.
'The Stripes' scored eleven goals and conceded twelve goals in this round while in the first round, Birkirkara scored thirteen goals and conceded thirteen goals as well.
In this second round, Birkirkara managed to win one point more than the first round as 'The Stripes' won fourteen out of twenty seven points, while in the first round Birkirkara won thirteen points.
