Manuel Bartolo - Player of the Match talks to us
by Ayrton Galea - 25th September 2010Yesterday, Birkirkara registered their second win in the Premier League. We felt it was time to interview one of the best players, who had an excellent performance yesterday and was also voted as Player of the Match, Manuel Bartolo.
Manuel performed a number of excellent saves to deny Hibernians the opportunity to score and it was well and truly deserved for this goalkeeper to be chosen as the Player of the Match.
Manuel started by giving his views about yesterday's match. "From this game, we went all out for the three points which we wanted at all cost especially to bounce back from the defeat against Floriana. I think both sides had their chances and the three points was uncertain until the final second but we believed and worked together to achieve what we really wanted."
Everyone present at the National Stadium could see his improvement from match to match, so we asked Manuel about his performance. "Yes, by time I am getting more confident. It was not an easy task to engage quickly with this squad, but thanks to my team mates and their support it is not being that difficult.
"Finally, I have to thank all the Birkirkara supporters for their believe both in myself and the rest of the team while I encourage them to stay behind and support us through the whole season. With their support, we can bring down more and more honours to Valley Road."
