Birkirkara managed to secure the third victory from four matches, when on Friday, Mr.Zammit's men managed to beat Dingli S. 3-1

In the first few minutes of the match, 'The Stripes' seemed to find themselves in some trouble, as our defence found it hard to cope with the runs of Okonkwo on the right hand side. And in fact, it was Okonkwo himself who found an unmarked Agius, but the latter failed to make any contact with the ball.

Despite the shaky start, Birkirkara manged to take the lead after twenty-seven minutes, when a Sylvano Comvalous effort was cleared off the line, only for the ball to end up in Michael Galea's possession, who had the easiest of tasks in putting our side ahead.

Ten minutes later, a Dingli S. corner from the right was misjudged by Alan Tabone, who was unlucky to commit an own goal.

Just five minutes passed, before Michael Galea nodded home after some fine work by Trevor Cilia, to make the half-time score 2-1 for 'The Stripes'

The game was practically over on the 68th minute, when tenacious midfielder Paul Fenech unleashed a superb first-timer which flew into the bottom right corner of the Dingli goal. This goal delighted the few Birkirkara supporters who challenged the bad weather and still made their way to the Ta'Qali National Stadium to support our side.

With this win, Birkirkara are now top of the league together with Valletta, who still have a game in hand.
